1. Who We Are

Cher Ami is a door-to-door flyer marketing platform operating in Contra Costa County, California. We print and deliver physical flyers on behalf of local businesses and track aggregate QR code scan activity to help our clients measure campaign performance.

2. What We Collect When You Scan a QR Code

When you scan a QR code printed on a Cher Ami flyer, we automatically record:

• The unique code identifier printed on your flyer
• The census block group associated with the delivery area (a geographic zone of approximately 600–3,000 households — not your individual address)
• The date and time of the scan
• Your approximate city and country (derived from your IP address at the moment of the scan)
• Your browser user-agent string

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or precise home address. We do not build individual profiles. Scan data is associated with a geographic delivery zone, not with any identified person.

3. How We Use This Information

Scan data is used solely to:

• Show our business clients how many times their flyer offer was viewed in each delivery area
• Improve our targeting recommendations for future campaigns
• Detect and filter automated bot traffic to keep attribution accurate

4. Data Retention

Individual scan records are retained for 90 days from the date of the scan, after which they are permanently deleted. Aggregate campaign statistics (total scan counts per delivery area) may be retained longer for reporting purposes.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Scan data is shared only with the specific business client whose flyer you scanned, in aggregated form. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Cher Ami or others.

6. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information)

Because we do not collect identifying information at the point of scan, we cannot link a scan record to a specific individual without additional information you provide to us. To submit a privacy request, email us at privacy@cherami.us.

7. Cookies and Tracking

The QR landing page does not use cookies or third-party tracking pixels. The scan event is logged server-side at the moment you access the page URL.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services evolve. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of Cher Ami services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
